megan & david are a really fun couple that live out in north carolina right now while they’re finishing up graduate school, but the really cool thing about them is that they both grew up in Stillwater like me!! so they were in town last week and we did their engagement session down by loring park, looking for just a little fall color (though much of it was eluding us, sadly). here’s a few faves:
rachelle & matt were up for doing something a little different for their engagement session. we thought it would be cool do try for a field of wheat or something like that, but being the experienced farmer that i am (ha!), i think we realized that maybe it wasn’t the right time of year for that. so instead, we went back to one of my favorite seasonal spots, the minnesota harvest apple orchard down in jordan. its really one of the nicest apple orchards in the twin cities area and they have a fantastic variety of apples there too! we also went and checked out their corn maize when it was getting a little darker in the evening and got some really great stuff. check it out!
well, it was a big week of engagement sessions last week (6 in two weeks), so we’re just getting warmed up! 
two of them i did down at a great little park that i visit every once and a while called Irvine Park in st. paul. there are certain parts of the twin cities that i really love the neighborhood character and irvine park is one of those spots exactly. it was a very warm day and we got there just as a wedding was finishing up in the park. here are a few faves of mine.
for the last few years i’ve been compiling a list of really unique and different places to photograph couples for engagement sessions, weddings, or just to have some fun in your wedding attire. one of those places that i’ve been wanting to do for a while was to photograph a couple on the light rail in minneapolis. well, i finally got a couple takers in angella & matt!! so last thursday night it was a beautiful evening and we met downtown and then took the light rail to the airport and really got some killer shots. here are a few of my faves…
to say the weather around here has been interesting lately would be a bit of an understatement. the day after monica & ryan’s wedding, the weather changed from beautiful, warm and sunny, to very very rainy and windy. but luckily by the time lori & tommy’s reception rolled around, the rain subsided enough for us to take a few really nice shots outside on the golf course where they had their reception (hastings country club). afterall, i’d feel somehow unfulfilled if i wasn’t able to get one of my bride’s dresses just a little dirty.
